According to the CEO of the Association of Construction Material Producers of Estonia Enno Rebane, Estonian material producers will solve their supply problems, i.e., by the end of the year.

Like the rest of the world, Estonian building material producers also struggle to meet orders due to high demand.

The CEO of the Association of Construction Material Producers of Estonia admits that the manufacturers are having a difficult time – in the first quarter, sales to the domestic market decreased by 5% year-on-year. Still, in the second quarter, they had to cope with growth by 31%. The most challenging time was the second quarter and summer, says  Enno Rebane, but adds that the solution of production problems is expected by the end of this year. “Many manufacturers have long-term contracts, so the sudden transition from minus to plus was not easy,” he explains. They had to procure raw materials, additional materials, packaging, and find labor. According to him, the current problems are primarily related to the import of necessary products or accessories. Raw materials and transport have risen sharply in price.

“Of course, the growth of demand is much better than a decline in demand; however, sharp changes are unfortunately always difficult,” he sums up the situation of Estonian building material producers.
