In 2018 Paekivitoodete Tehase OÜ received support from EIC (Environmental Investment Center) company energy and resource efficiency measure for the implementation of the project “Paekivitoodete Tehase OÜ resource efficiency investment”.

The aim of the project is to increase the resource efficiency of Paekivitoodete Tehase OÜ’s production process per unit of extracted mineral resources (tons) by reducing fuel consumption and electricity consumption as well as more efficient use of mineral resources, achieving a 17.9% improvement in resource use. As a result of the investment in the new production line, it will be possible to obtain more and better-quality end products from the extracted material with lower resource consumption.

In addition, instead of today’s three stationary crushers, it is possible to do the same work with one mobile crusher, which will be used at the company’s two quarries, in Väo, and in Maardu.  As a result of this investment project, the cost of fuel (1152 → 623 m³/year) and electricity consumption (3464 → 1196 MWh/year) will decrease in the production process, the potential resource-saving being 18.2% per year. 

The cost of the project is 1 297,697 euros, of which the grant amount is 454 194 euros.
